The Guest House Common Areas
Painted and wallpapered yellow, red, and pale green our sunny kitchen has an attitude that says, welcome. Vintage furnishings, hickory cabinets, and heirloom cookie jars provide a backdrop where cooking and conversation are great partners. This is the heart of the farmhouse where folks gather over a cup of tea, a glass of lemonade, or an afternoon snack.
The Dining Room
Our breakfast is a visual culinary treat, with linens, candlelight, china, soft music, and attractive presentation of seasonal food. Menus include fresh organic eggs from our chickens, homemade breads, seasonal fruit, juices, smoothies, cereals, or waffles. Of course, preferences and diet restrictions are included with our personalized service.
The Front Parlors
The Victorian parlor of the early 1900's was where families gathered for entertainment, conversation, and music. Today our parlors have all of the electronic technology of our time, computers, cable TV, DVD's, internet radio, and video games. We celebrate the slower pace of the Victorian period by providing board games, magazines, playing cards, and books as well.
Our 170 acres offers many seasonal opportunities to enjoy nature. Birding, wild flower seeking, snow shoeing, or fishing can enhance a few hours of your day. Walking the gratitude labyrinth is a wonderful spiritual journey. A lazy nap in the hammock or a visit to the chickens competes with sipping a drink on the front porch. Take a bubble bath under the stars in the outdoor tree house shower. Perhaps someone will challenge you to a game of horseshoes or a swing on the tire swing. Climb the old tractor and be a farmer in your imagination. It's all here at Tryon Farm.
Enjoy a quiet private dinner for two in a venue that is as unique as you are. Or have family fun time playing games, solving puzzles or reading in the hammock. We've built out our 1896 attic turret for three season fun, an additional space to help make your stay at Tryon Farm Guest House memorable.
Tryon Farm Guest House
This has been my favorite of any b&b of any we've ever stayed at. I love the way it is furnished - comfy, charming, and unfussy - and the lovely hospitality (cookies and homemade lemonade, wonderful!).
We had a great walk around the farm, a picnic dinner outside, and a relaxing bath under the trees (this was a big thrill for me and my daughter both).
Breakfast was fantastic, too, as was sitting out on the lawn and enjoying the bench swing, tire swing, and croquet set. I think you have everything anyone could want in a farm house - we'll certainly be back."
